SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPY.

Angela currently offers a weekly Sports Massage Therapy clinic in North Berwick. 

Sports Massage is a form of massage which utilises specific techniques and stretches to help obtain maximum performance and physical conditioning with less chance of injury or pain. It increases power, endurance and flexibility both before and after an event and workout. 

There is an ever increasing body of research which supports its usage. 

Appointment types and prices are listed when you click on the link. An initial appointment of 60 minutes duration is required to provide a detailed consultation, postural assessment, sports massage treatment and also aftercare exercise prescription. 

Subsequent appointments can be booked in 30 minute and 60 minute slots in duration and include a re-assessment, sports massage and access to an ongoing online exercise program to assist with areas of injury or complaint. 

THE STORY.

Angela has amassed a diverse work experience, starting with six successful years as an E-Commerce Manager. Following that, she embarked on a twelve-year journey as a Director within the security industry. In this role, Angela specialised in HR, Recruitment, Screening, and Training. Throughout her career, Angela has demonstrated a genuine passion for nurturing and enhancing the growth of others. As a result, she has skillfully developed her current role with the following key aspects from her professional journey.

Sports Therapy

After deciding to return to studying in 2022, Angela enrolled in an HND program in Sports Therapy at Edinburgh College. With a strong personal connection to rugby through her four boys and husband, she aimed to work alongside them to provide support in their sporting journeys, as well as assist others in the same field.

Following her first year, Angela is now a qualified Sports Massage Therapist. 

Angela is currently working with the North Berwick Rugby team alongside Melissa Roger, a Graduate Sports Rehabilitator and founder of Reactive Rehab.

Throughout the summer, Angela has provided Sports Massage for the mens Scottish Rugby Team for the World Cup 2023. 

In addition, Angela is currently providing Sports Massage for the women's team as preparation for WXV South Africa.

Sports Science

Angela graduated from University of Glamorgan with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Applied Sports Science in 1999. 

Specialising in subjects such as Sports Coaching, Anatomy & Physiology Teaching Methods, Biomechanics, Anatomy & Physiology, Diet & Nutrition, Strategic Management, Research Methods.

Throughout her time at Uni, Angela played university women's rugby  and was selected to represent at an international level for Welsh Universities. She was awarded Club Colours and Full Colours. 

Coaching qualifications included Welsh Rugby Union Coaching Award - Level 1 & Level 2 and Welsh Football Association Leaders Award. 

First Aid 

Angela previously ran her own Training Business, teaching First Aid and Communication & Conflict Management from 2007. 

Her role allowed her to work on contracts with large Institutions such as M&S, local schools and nurseries, nightclubs, personal trainers, security companies and bars.

City & Guilds qualified to teach in the lifelong learning sector, Angela has a passion for sharing knowledge and remains a fully qualified first aider.

Adult Nursing

At Napier University Edinburgh, Angela studied Adult Nursing via the graduate shortened pathway in 2005.

Working within the NHS throughout this time on the Nurse Bank and also for the British Nursing Association, Angela is experienced with many types of patient care. With placements within Surgical, Elderly and Medical Settings at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. Working specifically in the areas of Colorectal Surgery, Acute Receiving Unit and Infectious Diseases.
